Privacy Policy

Last updated July 3, 2026

This policy explains how Wine Hound LLC (“Wine Hound,” “we,” “us”), a limited liability company organized in the State of Kansas, handles your information in the AI Sommelier (the “Service”). It covers the Service; our marketing website has its own privacy notice.

What we collect

  • Account: your name, email, and date of birth (used only for the legal-drinking-age gate), plus a securely hashed password.
  • Your use of the Service: your cellar, your events and their guests, your conversations with the sommelier, and your preferences.
  • Usage and safety data: metering of the AI features (message and token counts) and technical data such as your IP address, which we use to run the Service, apply fair-use rate limits, and protect against abuse. We use your IP to enforce these limits; we do not build an advertising profile from it.

How your data reaches AI

To answer you, we send the relevant context (such as the bottles in your cellar and your message) to an AI provider. By default that provider is Anthropic; a winery or distributor partner may configure a different provider (such as OpenAI or Google) for its own deployment. We use these providers under their commercial terms, which do not permit your content to be used to train their models. We never sell your data.

Service providers

We share data only with the service providers that run the Service on our behalf: our AI provider (Anthropic, or a partner-configured provider); our database and file storage host (Supabase); our web host (Vercel); our payments processor for paid plans (Stripe); our email provider (Resend); and, when enabled, our error-monitoring provider (Sentry). Each processes data only to provide its service to us.

Guests you invite

When you invite guests to an event, we store their name and email to manage the RSVP through a private link. Guests can respond without creating an account, and we use their details only for that event.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and its contents for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward. Ask us to delete your account and we will remove your personal data, except where we need to keep limited records to meet a legal or accounting obligation.

Your choices

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Email hello@wine-hound.com and we will help. You can also stop using the Service at any time.

Children and age

The Service is intended only for adults of legal drinking age. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under that age; if you believe a minor has used the Service, contact us and we will remove the account.

White-label deployments

Where the Service runs for a winery or distributor partner under their branding, that partner is responsible for its own privacy notice with you. The partner sees only aggregate usage for its own deployment, never another customer’s cellar.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy; the date above shows the current version. Questions or deletion requests? hello@wine-hound.com.
